HELLO,
I am Steev's blog where he collects things he finds, cool, inspiring, funny, ridiculous, ridiculously funny, inspiringly cool, and all other permutations of those 4 words.

I typically prefer Skiba’s tracks over Dan’s lisping emotional 17 year old girl songs, but today was a sluggish day and on the “L” home from work, this song seemed to speak to my apathy. Alkaline Trio, more than anything else, will always remind me of home. Trio is sacred in McHenry, or it was before my hometown was overrun with middle-class white kids who, for some inexplicable reason, think they’re hardened gangbangers. But that’s another blog post, nay, another blog. Damn kids.
So Alkaline Trio…yea.
They’re called café racers and this is the beginning of my enthusiastic plunge into learning, saving and hopefully building one. A stripped down little sport bike with WWII toughness for about 10% of the cost of a Harley. Understated and mean. It’s a total whim and I can barely afford my rent, let alone a motorcycle, but you’ve got to think big or sink into your mediocre, wretched little lives. If you were uninterested in all my track bicycle posts, you might as well stop following me cos here come the café bikes.
THE FIRST OF MANY OR WE’LL SEE HOW THIS GOES
I’m going to put together a small, lo-fi publication that I’m trying not to call a “zine”. I’m asking for submissions. It will be a 5x5 inch saddle stitched book. So I’d ask for a page or a spread. You can go full bleed. I’d like designers and non-designers to give me stuff so it stays interesting. Don’t get metaphorical on everybody’s ass, I just want to see cool, funny, random things that would make a cheap little book worth flipping through. For instance, one spread is simply going to be the word “falafel” set in futura extra bold oblique so don’t waste too much time. Most art zines are weird esoteric spreads trying to say something impactful. I want to do the opposite of that.

So, anybody interested?
dspl asked: Like this nigga! I got Miley Cyrus in Rock Band, I think it's time for another jam session.
Yes sir. Do you have “The Climb”?
davidschiller asked: Where do you live now?
And why am I asking this on Tumblr, and not Facebook?
I live in Chicago and work downtown. And I didn’t know you could message people on Tumblr. How’d you do this?
